RALEIGH, N.C. -

A Raleigh pastor has been arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with a 12-year-old girl, according to Raleigh Police.

Dalvis Steve Conerly, 62, was arrested for two counts of indecent liberties, police confirmed Monday.

The  victim and the suspect knew each other beforehand, although Conerly wasn't in a position of trust, authority, or responsibility over the victim, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

Conerly is the pastor of the New Beginnings Fellowship, which lists its address as being on Banks Road in Raleigh. The website says it meets at a location on Highway 401 in Raleigh.

His bond is listed as $50,000. He was arrested Saturday.

According to biography, he is listed as a licensed professional counselor with a doctorate in spiritual guidance.
