(AP) Representatives of a filmmaker's union say they'll work to ensure that accidents similar to one in south Georgia that killed an assistant camera operator never happen again.
In a statement President of the local chapter of the International Cinematographers Guild, Steven Poster, said the train crash that killed 27-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Jones on Thursday will shape the union's future discussions with producers.
Jones, of Atlanta, was fatally struck by a train while she and other crew members were filming a portion of "Midnight Rider," which is based on the life of musician Gregg Allman. Several other crew members were injured.
Poster says Jones was smart, talented and had an infectious personality. He said the union is cooperating with federal and local investigators, and will provide grief counseling for Jones' colleagues.
