Police Search for Home Invasion Suspect

Violent Crimes Detectives for the Savannah-ChathamMetropolitan Police Department arrested one man but are still looking for another after a home invasion on Savannah'ssouthside early Friday morning.

 Justafter 12:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a home invasion at EdgewaterTrace Apartments on 10000 block of Abercorn Street.

 At11:20 p.m. Friday, 26-year-old Corey Peoples of the 9400 block of Whitfield Avenue,was arrested for the crime during a traffic stop on Truman Parkway. Police say a stolen gun was found and they believe that gun was used in the home invasion. Peoples is charged with theft byreceiving stolen property, possession of firearm by convicted felon,armed robbery, first degree burglary and theft by taking.

 Investigators continue their search for the second suspect, described as ablack male in his early 20s, standing between 5-4 to 5-6 and weighing 275 to300 pounds. During the incident he wore dark clothing.
