Greensboro man charged after victim shot, robbed, and girlfriend's car stolen

GOLDSBORO, N.C. - Police have one man in custody and are searching for another after a man was shot and his girlfriend’s car was stolen.

34-year-old Demar Worrell of Greensboro is charged with (F) Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, (F) 1st Degree Kidnapping, (F) Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, (F) 2nd Degree Burglary, (F) Larceny of Motor Vehicle and (F) Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver.

It all started Monday at a home on Harding Drive, where a man says two suspects robbed him at gunpoint of his cellphone, shot him, burglarized the home and stole his girlfriend’s car.

Worrell was apprehended in a foot chase after the suspect vehicle crashed into a tree. The second suspect in the case remains at large.

Mr. Worrell was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $775,000 secured bond.
