WASHINGTON, N.C. -
Ruth's House is celebrating its one year anniversary of serving women, children, and even some men, who have been affected by domestic violence.
Derik Davis, a board member at Ruth's House, says they were able to help over 60 children, women, and men over the past year recover from their domestic violence experience.
Davis hopes the house is able to help even more in the upcoming years.
"The message we would want to get out tonight is the message we try to get out every time we have an opportunity to speak publicly. If you're in a position in your life that your a victim of domestic violence, reach out," Davis said.
If you, or someone you know, is experiencing domestic violence and needs help, visit Ruth's House website at http://www.ruths-house.org/ or call the crisis hotline at 252-946-0709.
