One In Custody After SWAT Called To Greenwood Home

A possible hostage situation is under investigation in Greenwood. A possible hostage situation is under investigation in Greenwood.
GREENWOOD, S.C. - According to Captain Nick Futch with Greenwood Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Maplewood Court in reference to a possible hostage situation Monday evening.

Captain Futch says initial reports suggested a woman was being held inside the residence by a man who was possibly armed.

The SWAT team was then called out to the scene and negotiators were able to resolve the situation peacefully.

The male suspect was taken into custody on outstanding warrants and charges against him are pending.

The situation is still under investigation, according to Captain Futch.
