GOLDSBORO, N.C. - A Pikeville man is behind bars accused of shooting another man.

Police say they arrested and charged 23-year-old Nebraska Raheem Best on Thursday with one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and one count of Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

His arrest follows an investigation into the shooting of a 49-year old victim on Mulberry Street in Goldsboro back in June of 2013. The victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds and taken to Wayne Memorial  with non-life threatening injuries.

Best is in the Wayne County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond.
