Deputies: Two arrested for Beaufort County meth lab

WASHINGTON, N.C. - Two people are behind bars in connection to a Beaufort County meth lab.
On Friday, deputies went to the Garriss' home on Camp Leach Road in Washington to help a business recover stolen property. When deputies contacted Herbert, they entered a shop on the Garriss property. Deputies say they saw plastic bottles commonly used for manufacturing methamphetamine that were actively cooking. Deputies cleared area and called in the State Bureau of Investigations Clandestine Lab Division.

Drug Unit Investigators and SBI Lab Agents processed the scene and found evidence of the manufacture of meth.  All the items were seized from the residence along with 11 firearms.

As a result of the investigation, Herbert Garriss was arrested and charged with Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possess/Distribute Methamphetamine Precursors, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center without bond.

Angela Garris was also arrested and charged with  Possess/Distribute Methamphetamine Precursors and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She is also being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
