Pitt County Schools to Honor Top Educators

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Pitt County Schools will honor some of its top educators during the school system’s annual Pitt County Farm Bureau Teacher of the Year Banquet
The banquet will be held today Wednesday, March 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Rock Springs Center.

The district will name its top teacher from a group of representatives from every school. 
Those up for the honor had to complete a number of steps before being eligible including winning at the school level and submitting a portfolio for review by a panel of education professionals. Six finalists were selected for interviews and site visits by the panel.
  
The winner will receive numerous gifts and monetary awards from more than a dozen local merchants and businesses including a car form
Pecheles Automotive of Greenville. The car will be given to the winner to drive during his or her term.

This will be the third year that Pecheles Automotive has sponsored the use of a new car for the Pitt County Teacher of the Year. The dealership will cover all costs related to leasing and servicing of the vehicle for the next year.
