GREENVILLE, N.C. - Police say a driver and teen are at fault after the teen was hit by a car.

It happened Wednesday afternoon around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Arlington Blvd. and Sunset Ave., near Memorial Drive in Greenville.

Officers say the 17 year old male was walking down the wrong side of the street when he was hit by the car, driven by a 44 year old female. The names of both individuals have not yet been released.

Police say both the pedestrian and driver of the car are at fault in the accident. The driver of the car was issued a traffic citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid hitting a pedestrian. Police do not believe the teen will be charged in the incident.

The teen was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

We’ll have more details as they become available.
