Jacksonville man charged with sex offense against young girls

Posted: Updated:
JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - A Jacksonville man is accused of engaging in sex acts with several girls.

39-year-old Kirk Macleod of Jacksonville was charged Wednesday with two counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, child abuse by sexual act, and crimes against nature.

Investigators say Macleod was linked to several prepubescent girls, ages 8 to 12, whom he allegedly sexually assaulted. Those victims disclosed multiple sexual assaults.

It happened between January and December 2013 in Jacksonville.

After learning about the investigation, Macleod, allegedly, packed up his personal belongings and fled to Syracuse, New York.  He was taken into custody by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and was later extradited back to Onslow County where he was placed in the Onslow County Jail without bond.
