ECU student biking for a cause

Posted: Updated:
Josh Lawrence is an ECU student who will be spending his summer very differently then many of his classmates.

He and a friend are planning on riding along the Great Divide, a 2,500 mile path that crosses the Rocky Mountains. They're doing it to raise awareness and money for a rare neurological disorder called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, otherwise known as RSDS.

Their goal is to raise $10,000. Lawrence hopes their unique bike ride will encourage people to donate to help people who suffer from RSDS.

"A lot of people bike across the country," he said. "We figured something new and more interesting, and also way more challenging, would help bring in a bigger audience to help solicit donations."
