Washington man, woman busted for marijuana grow operation

WASHINGTON, N.C. - Deputies have arrested a Washington man and woman for operating a marijuana grow operation.

It happened Thursday.

The arrests stem from investigators conducting a search warrant at their residence, where they found an indoor marijuana grow operation. Investigators seized five marijuana plants, digital scales, packaging material and user amounts of marijuana.

23-year-old Carlos Mayo was arrested and charged with Manufacture Marijuana, Maintain a Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 45-year-old Rebecca Provost was arrested and charged with Possession of Less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Mayo was placed in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond, while Provost was held under a $1,000 secured bond.
