DeBlase Attorneys Withdraw from Trial

Posted: Updated:
The Alabama man accused of the torture and murder of his two children will have to find new representation in court.

The state attorneys representing John DeBlase had their motion to be withdrawn from the case approved on Monday.

The attorneys filed the request in the circuit court of Mobile County citing, "it would not be in the best interest of the defendent (DeBlase)" to continue being represented by the attorneys appointed by the state of Alabama.

DeBlase and his wife Heather Leavell-Kenton are accused of torturing and murdering his two children, Natalie and Chase DeBlase, in 2009.

Investigators believe the couple slowly poisoned their children by putting antifreeze in their food. Their bodies were discovered in a roadside grave in late 2010.
