HAWKINS COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested a man on drug charges Tuesday, following the execution of a fugitive from justice arrest warrant.

According to a Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office news release, Kevin Lee Turner, 28, 114 Poplar Drive, was charged after officers went to his home to serve a warrant for his arrest for being a fugitive from justice, after he had reportedly been indicted by the State of Virginia on criminal charges of distribution of marijuana, drug sale on or near a school or library and child abuse.

Hawkins County officers found drug paraphernalia, which included baggies and pipes with residue, in plain view throughout the home.

According to the release, authorities found 12 ounces of marijuana, which had been individually packaged into multiple baggies, a Rossi .22 caliber rifle, glass pipes, drug ledgers, an assortment of plastic baggies, an assortment of ammunition, as well as another small baggie of marijuana.

Turner was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are housed or sold, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Criminal charges from the State of Virginia are pending.

He was taken to Hawkins County Jail, where he was held without bond.

Turner’s father, Frederick Carl Turner, 45, and his girlfriend, Christina Jo Kohr, 21, who also reportedly live in the home, were both issued citations from simple possession of marijuana and were released.
