Deputies arrest Greenville man, seize $7,500 in heroin

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Deputies say a three month heroin investigation culminated with a traffic stop and the seizure of 500 dosage units of heroin and $450.

The estimated street value of the heroin was approximately $7,500.

It happened Tuesday.

Detectives say they made undercover purchases of several dosage units of heroin. It was being transported from a town north of Pitt County.

51-year-old Gregory Devone Jones of Greenville is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin; maintaining a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance; and trafficking heroin. He was placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $500,000 secure bond.
