Dudley man charged in Wayne County jail assault

GOLDSBORO, N.C. - Deputies say a Dudley man has been charged after he allegedly injured employees at the Wayne County Jail.

28-year-old David Jacob Lambert is charged with first-degree kidnapping and two counts of assault on a law enforcement official resulting in serious injury, including other charges.

He’s accused of assaulting two detention center employees in the jail’s control room on February 12. They suffered minor injuries.

Lambert was already being held on first-degree rape, first-degree sexual offense and first-degree kidnapping charges.

He’s being held on a $200,000 secured bond.
