1 dead in Durham apartment shooting

DURHAM, N.C. -

Police are investigating a fatal shooting late Saturday night at a Durham apartment.

Durham Police say officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 500 block of Liberty Street around 10:03 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man, who had suffered a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Duke Hospital, where he later died.

Police say the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.

The name of the victim has not been released. And police did not say if a suspect has been named.
