Tara Dempster, 34, of Florence was booked into the Florence County Detention Center Monday. She faces several drug related charges.
The DHEC Bureau of Drug Control arrest warrants state Dempster failed to maintain charts, prescription records, patient medical history and did not justify prescription refills while acting as a nurse practitioner.
The warrants show this happened during the period of time between February 1, 2013 and July 7, 2013 while she worked at Griffin Family Practice in Darlington County.
It goes on to say that she unlawfully issued a prescription for alphrazolam for her brother, who was not a patient of Dempster's supervising physician. Furthermore, News13 spoke with her brother, who had been out of the country between February 1, 2013 and July 7, 2013. DHEC warrants report she also wrote scripts for and zolpidem for another person.
