COLUMBUS, Ohio -

Columbus fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire at a north Columbus home Thursday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to a home on Highfield Drive at about 9:15 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a boy stating his home was on fire.

According to fire officials, the fire started in a bedroom in the rear of the home. The family was alerted when the smoke detectors began to sound.

Two adults and two children were able to safely escape the home without injury.

It is unclear at this time what caused the fire. The home sustained moderate damage, according to firefighters.
