DINWIDDIE CO. (WRIC) - The man who broke into a Dinwiddie home twice this week and was caught on a camera hidden in a cereal box has been captured by authorities.

Game cameras are usually used outdoors for hunting, but one hidden inside a box of breakfast cereal helped a Dinwiddie man catch the burglar in action.

"Started viewing the pictures and found three pictures of the suspect,” said Charles, who lives off the house on Vaughn Road.

Deputy Kenneth Droddy with the Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s Office says that suspected thief is Henry Boyd, and he was caught on a camera that was hidden inside a Cheerios box.

The homeowner placed the box behind a chair in the kitchen after a break-in a few months ago.

"Most the time I have them set up in the woods, and then things got suspicious, i just brought it in and set it up,” he said.

Droddy says the suspect first broke into the home on Tuesday.

“Forced entry through the back door to his house by busting a window out, unlocking the door and coming on in,” he said.

He then came back Wednesday to steal more things, including a laptop. Both times the camera was rolling, hidden, capturing the man in action.

"Trailer cam is just as good as a security system-- it's a whole lot easier to operate and to view the pictures on it,” said Charles.

On Friday, 42-year-old Henry Boyd was captured by United States Marshals in Petersburg. He faces two counts of burglary and two counts of grand larceny.
