Troopers search for hit-and-run suspect

NEW BERN, N.C. - North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are searching for the driver in a suspected hit-and-run accident in Craven County.

Trooper and Traffic Safety Information Officer, W.D. Coley tells 9 On Your Side a motorcycle was struck by a dark colored mini-van, possibly a Chevrolet.

Trooper Coley says after the motorcycle was hit, the motorcycle then struck another vehicle, driven by an impaired driver.

It happened at the NC 17 and NC 55 split on Thursday evening.

The hit-and-run vehicle was last seen traveling towards Pamlico County on NC-55.

No word yet on any injuries from this incident.
