More Than 100 Vehicle Windows Shot Out With BB Gun

Posted: Updated:
NEWARK, Ohio - Police in Newark are investigating a crime spree that included more than 100 vehicles with windows that were shot out with a BB gun.

According to Newark police, multiple phone calls began coming into to dispatchers Sunday morning of vehicles with their windows shot out by a BB gun. Police said a few callers reported their homes had been struck by bullets.

Police said the vandalism is not only throughout Newark, but also in Heath.

"Stay away, stay away, and don't let me catch you. Some pretty angry people on this street right now," said Daniel Spence, who lives on Woods Avenue in Newark.  The driver's side window of his truck was shot out.  He said cars parked along the street are vandalized every three months or so.

Newark police took reports on Woods Avenue, Wells Avenue, Maple Avenue and Central Avenue -- to name a few.

There are no arrests at this time, but police told NBC4 that they hope someone who knows something or saw something will come forward.
