The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office charged two more people on Monday in connection to the death of 18-year-old Tayvon McMillan whose body was found on the edge of Fort Bragg.

In a press release Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said Dejour Peterson, 17, of Raeford, and Della Ryan Locklear, 17, of Raeford, are both charged with first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy, assault with a deadly weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle.

Peterkin said on April 4, McMillan was reported missing by a family member to Raeford Police. He said McMillan’s body was located along Plank Road on Fort Bragg on Sunday, April 6.

Peterkin said McMillan was lured to the Somerset subdivision off of Hobson Road in Raeford. McMillan was physically attacked by multiple people and then transported from the subdivision to Fort Bragg where he was then killed, Peterkin explained.

On Saturday, April 12, the sheriff’s office arrested Joel Thornton, 23, and Jaquan Peterson, 19, in connection to the kidnapping and death of McMillan. Thornton and Peterson are both charged with the same charges as Dejour Peterson and Locklear. Peterkin said the Petersons are brothers.

All four suspects had bail set at $1 million each. All four live on Utah Street in Raeford.

Investigators said that additional arrests in the case are expected as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information that will assist with the investigation is asked to call the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office at 910-875-5111.
