FREMONT, N.C. -

A Kenly man is accused of kidnapping a Pikeville man and tying him up with duct tape and covering him in spray paint, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office says 39-year-old Jerry Mason kidnapped a man from his Pikeville home on Ivey Lane and taking him to a residence in Fremont.

A Fremont police officer responded to the area of Aycock Street in Fremont for a separate incident and came into contact with Mason.

The Fremont police officer discovered the man who had been bound at his hands and legs with duct tape. The man was also covered in spray paint.

The officer contacted the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and a detective was called out to the scene to investigate the incident.

Authorities interviewed both the victim and the victim’s girlfriend.

Mason was arrested and charged with second-degree kidnapping and was given a $75,000 bond.
