SAVANNAH -

Investigators say a man was intoxicated and behind the wheel of a boat, causing the death of Savannah woman last Summer.

Joseph Webb was arrested by Georgia Department of Natural Resources and booked into Bryan County Jail in connection with the death of Shana Crozier.

That's after he was indicted on homicide by vessel charges.

Crozier, age 25, was killed after hitting her head on a train trestle during a boating trip on the Ogeechee River near Kings Ferry last August.

Investigators say Webb was driving his boat at a high rate of speed and was drunk at the time of the crash.

Georgia DNR investigators say the area Crozier hit her head was very narrow and Webb didn't reduce his speed through the restricted area.

They say there was a 1/2 mile of visibility at the time of the accident and he could have seen a problem coming if he was sober.

Webb was indicted by a Bryan County Grand Jury in March, but didn't show up to his arraignment hearing. He was arrested Wednesday and taken to Bryan County Jail

Webb will stay in jail until his next arraignment date, April 23rd.
