Flash flooding closes several roads in Downtown Charleston

The National Weather Service in Charleston says the Flash Flood Warning has expired. Flash flooding still has some roads in Downtown Charleston closed . As of 9 a.m. Saturday, the following streets are closed, according to Charleston Police: 

·         Ashley Avenue from Halsey to Bennett

·         Colonial Street from Tradd  from to Broad

·         Ashley Avenue from Tradd to Broad

According to Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist, Rob Fowler, rainfall rates could occasionally exceed one to two inches, producing additional flash flooding across the warned area.

Flash flooding is expected in and around Charleston, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, Moncks Corner, St. Stephen, Jamestown and McClellanville.
