BIRMINGHAM, AL -
Three people are in the hospital after a shooting at Minnieville Park in Wylam on Sunday. 

Lt. Sean Edwards with the Birmingham Police says officers responded to the park around 1 p.m.. The shooting is believed to have started with an altercation between the three individuals. All three were taken to UAB hospital. One is being treated for life-threatening injuries. 

According to Lt. Edwards, the victims are not cooperating with police. However, he says the Birmingham Police do not believe anyone else was involved with this shooting. There is no search for any other suspects at this time. 

A witness nearby at the time of the shooting says two of the three people shot were armed. The witness also says there were children in the park at the time of the shooting, but they were not injured. 

The identities of the three individuals shot have not been released.
