BIRMINGHAM, AL - This Sunday will mark three years since one of the largest and deadliest tornado outbreaks in Alabama history.

April 27, 2011 will forever be etched in the memories of those of us who survived.

According to data from the National Weather Service, there were 29 tornadoes that touched down in Central Alabama and 62 that touched down across the state, killing hundreds of people and injuring thousands more.

Here’s a look back at some of the unforgettable images taken across Central Alabama moments after the deadly outbreak.
