Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - There are several events going on across the east in our weekend planner, here are just a few:

The 2014 Farmville Dogwood Festival runs all weekend. Saturday there are activities all day long including a Protown BMX stunt team exhibition. Country artist Cole Swindell, The Swon Brothers and Emily Minor will also take the stage Saturday night. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the gate. You’ll find more information on the Dogwood Festival here.

If you’re fascinated by pirates you’ll want to head to Greenville Saturday. There’s an open house at the Queen Anne’s Revenge Conservation Lab where they’re working to preserve artifacts from Blackbeard’s flagship. Visitors will get to experience different stages of an artifact’s journey from recovery to display. The open house runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information click here.

And south of us in Wilmington, fans of the hit CBS series Under the Dome can get a behind-the-scenes look at the show starting Saturday. Tours of Screen Gems Studios will be held each Saturday and Sunday this summer. Visitors will go on a walking tour of the 10 stage working log and have access to sound stages from Under the Dome. The tour is $12 for adults, $10 for students and military personnel and $5 for children under 12 years of age. You’ll find more information on the tour at this link.
