LINCOLNTON, N.C. -

Authorities in Lincoln County say an argument between two brothers has ended in a shooting death.

The sheriff's office says 44-year-old Jeffery Dwayne Anders is charged with second-degree murder. He was scheduled to appear in court Friday.

Sheriff David Carpenter said 41-year-old Rickey Dwayne Anders was shot twice in the head with a .38-caliber revolver Thursday afternoon. He said the Anders brothers had been arguing in the roadway near Rickey Anders' residence. It's not known what the men were arguing about.

According to the sheriff's office, Rickey Anders had just been released from prison and was on parole at the time of the shooting.

Jeffery Anders is being held under a $750,000 secured bond in the Lincoln County detention center. It's not known whether he has an attorney.
