Dogwood Festival continues weekend events

Posted: Updated:
FARMVILLE, N.C. - The 27th Annual Farmville Dogwood Festival continues its weekend events despite Friday night's storm.

The festival's opening celebrations and events came to a hault as heavy rain, wind and hail came through Farmville.

Festival chairman, Dan Taylor says it’s hard to believe just 24 hours ago the area was under a tornado warning.

“There's nothing like a little bit of sunshine to cure a lot of fear," said Taylor. "Yesterday we had hail and actually had folks huddled inside the town hall. Today, everyone is building around the concert site."

Thousands of folks in Eastern North Carolina are expected to be in Farmville Saturday for family events and concert featuring county star, Cole Swindell
