Partial collapse of bridge causes damage to Berkeley County water main

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC - Late Monday evening, the partial collapse of an overpass on Cypress Garden Road damaged a 12 inch Berkeley County Water and Sanitation water main that services that area.

Due to the damage, there are 21 residential customers without water service at this time; 19 in Durham Landing and 2 on Bushy Park Road.

Additionally there are a number of industrial customers in the area affected by this damage. BCWS crews are on the scene accessing the damage. Officials are also working closely with SCDOT and CSX and we will provide additional information as it becomes available.
