CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - CHAPEL HILL- Lefty Reed Love went the distance on a 5-hit shutout as East Carolina completed the season sweep of rival North Carolina, 1-0.  Love was in total command and didn't walk a batter in the game. He struck out seven in the win.

It's the first time the Pirates have swept the Tar Heels since 1994.

Charlie Yorgen drove home Garrett Brooks with the only run of the game in the seventh inning.

The Tar Heels committed five errors in the game.  Carolina also didn't send more than four batters to the plate in any inning and Tar Heel base runners only reached second base on two occasions.

The Pirates improve to 28-18 on the season and more importantly moved up several spots in the RPI. East Carolina is back in action on Friday as the Pirates host Florida International in a three game, Conference USA series.
