--- Original Story ---

In Edgecombe County a possible tornado hit near Mooring Road in Tarboro.

A tree fell through Susanne Martin's roof while she and 4 others were inside. 3 of them children.

One fell on her mom's house and truck across the street, too.

Down the road, the storm ripped the roof off a man's home and threw it about 50-yards.

Fortunately no injuries have been reported.

Tommy Gurganus says  he and his family were watching "Storm Team 9" and took cover when David Sawyer said take cover.

"They need to pay attention to Channel 9 and take their warnings seriously because we actually took that warning seriously, says Gurganus. When they said it was over this area we put the kids in there and everybody knew exactly what to do. I grabbed the mattress off her bed and I throwed it in there with them in the bathtub."
