12:25 p.m. Update:

Randy Taylor pleaded not guilty to all three charges: first degree murder, commission of abduction, and intent to defile.

So far, they've selected 15 possible members to be seated on the jury. They plan on choosing an additional 9 more possible jurors from the pool of 150. The defense plans to call 24 witnesses, and the Commonwealth plans to call 50.

They plan to seat 12 jury members and 2 alternates.

16 people subpoenaed by the court have said that they do not feel like they could serve on the jury because of potential bias towards the case.

The trial for the man charged with the abduction and murder of 17-year-old Alexis Murphy begins Thursday in Nelson County.

Randy Allen Taylor, 48, was arrested eight days after Murphy disappeared on August 3rd.

The trial is scheduled from May 1st-14th.

Nelson County Commonwealth Attorney Anthony Martin says he has about 50 witnesses and needs at least 2 weeks for the trial.

MURDER CHARGES FILED IN ALEXIS MURPHY CASE
Taylor's attorney asked Nelson County Judge J. Michael Gamble to move the jury out of Nelson County, but he denied the request.

It's expected to take two days to pick a jury that can remain fair and unbiased during the trial.
