Heart transplant survivor gets to be firefighter for a day

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT - A three-year-old Detroit boy was able to live his dream and become a Detroit firefighter for a day.

Barely bigger than a fire hydrant, Tyren Johnson was the man in charge of Detroit’s Engine 54 this week.

Tyren is a heart transplant survivor.  Thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation, his dream to become a Detroit firefighter came true.  The Detroit Fire Department says it was honored to be a part of it.

Tyren's mother says the whole experience was overwhelming.
