BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. -

Sheriff Fred Knight said that his department had arrested of 11 of 12 suspects in a federal drug conspiracy case in Marlboro County named "Operation State Line."

This investigation has been ongoing since 2009 and was investigated primarily by the Marlboro County Sheriff's deputies, FBI and McColl Police Dept.

In April 2014, these 12 defendants were indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for Drug Conspiracy.

The indictment charges that in or around 1995 and continuing thereafter and up to and including the date of the indictment, that in the District of South Carolina and elsewhere, that the defendants did knowingly, intentionally and did conspire, combine and agree and had a tacit understanding with each other’s and others unknown to the Grand Jury, to possess with intent to distribute and did distribute cocaine and cocaine base(crack cocaine).

The indictment said the drugs totaled more than 280 grams of a mixture and substance containing cocaine base and 5 kilograms or more of a mixture and substance containing cocaine.

With the assistance of numerous agencies, all defendants were taken into custody in a matter of just a few hours this week and were spread among 4 counties and 2 states, deputies say.

One defendant remains at large and that is Jermal Mckinnon aka Mal. He stands 5’10” and weighs 210lbs, deputies say. His residence of record is 401 Church St Clio SC.

A team comprised of Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, SLED, FBI, MCSO, McColl PD, US Marshals, SBI (NC State Police) executed a search warrant just before day light at the residence of Reginald McKinnon on Sanders Rd in Laurinburg NC.

Valuable evidence that will be used in the case was seized at that time. At the same time, others teams comprised of the same agencies converged on other residences here and other states to arrest co-defendants.

All of these defendants below have prior criminal records including multiple felony drug convictions. This investigation involves incidents over a number of years that includes undercover drug buys, search warrants, robberies and various other methods of investigation. This case will be prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office in Florence SC.

The following defendants were arrested in the past two days:

  • Quincy Lamont Campbell, 33 years old of 203 Karen Circle Bennettsville SC (arrested in Greensboro NC)
  •  Charles Edward Graham, 36 years old of McColl SC (arrested in Dillon SC)AKA Chuck
  • Michael Evans Pate aka Cricket, 45 years old of 103 Parker Ave McColl SC(arrested in McColl SC)
  • Phillip Antonio Fair aka Big Phil, 37 years old of Curly Lane Bennettsville SC (arrested in Hamlet NC)
  •  Jeffrey Patrick Harrington, aka Pac Man, 32 years old of Arcadia Drive Apts McColl SC (arrested in McColl)
  •  Jerrod Devaughn Moore, aka Big Pun, 28 years old of Family Farm Rd McColl SC(arrested in Bennettsville SC)
  • Larry Williams aka Pop aka P, 33 years old of Airbase Rd Wagram NC(arrested in Laurinburg NC)
  • Martin Jevon Mcinnis, aka Macaroni, 27 years old of Kernersville NC and Clio SC(arrested in Kernersville NC)
  •  Derrick Christopher Pate, aka DP, 32 years old of Eagles Pass Drive Taylors SC(arrested in Taylors SC)
  • Reginald Mckinnon, aka Big Reg, 37 years old of Sanders Rd Laurinburg NC (arrested at home)

 “This is probably the 5th or 6th case like this we have done in the past few years. I cannot warn drug dealers enough about the consequences of drug dealing. The Federal system has mandatory sentencing guidelines that are driven by these defendants’ prior records," Marlboro County Sheriff Knight said.

"This group has sold and distributed a lot of drugs over the years in this county and across the State Line into NC. I hope this sends a message again about selling drugs in this area. I would like to thank all the agencies involved and the teamwork utilized to affect these arrests in a few hours over so many locations.“
