Red panda cubs make their debut at Australian zoo

Posted: Updated:
AUSTRALIA - Two red panda cubs emerged from their nesting den in an Australian zoo for the first time this week to the delight of visitors and zookeepers alike.

The brother and sister seemed to enjoy eating and playing in their enclosure at Australia's National Zoo and Aquarium after spending about five months hidden away with their mother.

The twins don't have names yet.  They're native to the Himalayas and southern China and are considered an endangered species.  There are only thought to be about 10,000 of these red pandas left in the wild.  The zoo is running an online poll to help name the two cubs.
