FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement and the Fayetteville Police Department performed a sting operation Friday, busting employees of a Fayetteville nightclub and two bars in the Hope Mills area for drug violations.

ALE agents raided Mickey’s in Carolina Square at 5121 Bragg Blvd. Fayetteville. They also raided 22 Klicks bar in Hope Mills and The Crow’s Nest bar near Hope Mills and the Robeson County line. ALE said it believed drugs were being sold from the establishments.

24 arrests at Mickey’s included 19 employees and five suspected drug dealers.

"We bought drugs from every person you can imagine inside the place with the exception of the owner,” said ALE agent Jason Locklear. “We bought from the managers. We bought from the security guards, adult entertainers, the cooks, the dishwashers, the person working the front door, the clerk."

One person was arrested at 22 Klicks, and three people were arrested at The Crow’s Nest. One suspected supplier of drugs for the bars was also arrested at a hotel in Fayetteville, Locklear said.

The 29 people arrested face a total of 262 charges. Authorities said 174 were felony charges.

"They're helping us get the message out that we're just not going to tolerate it any more in Fayetteville," commented Mayor Nat Robertson who was at the raid to observe.

Law enforcement was seen going into the Peppermint Rabbit and the Drunk Horse Pub in the same shopping center as Mickey’s but no arrests were made at these establishments, ALE confirmed.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 1, two people died and two were injured in a shooting outside Mickey’s Bar and Grill. A suspect who was charged in the shooting, Jacoy Nathan Mahorn, 29, was shot and killed May 1 at the Cambridge Arms apartments in Fayetteville.
