HAVELOCK, N.C. - Marlena Bleau is in her 9th year as a middle school teacher. She’s currently working at Havelock Middle School and says STEM classes are exactly the way every classroom should be. “They’re the wave of the future, every classroom needs to look like this, where all learners are reached,” she said.  The classes include hands on learning, paired with high tech tools to help students prepare for their own future.

For more than 3 years, Bleau has worked with Fleet Readiness Center's "Grow Our Own Engineer's" program to help recruit and keep students in Eastern Carolina She’s helped to build a module that has gained attention from other companies across the country.
