Local Law Enforcement run for Special Olympics

Posted: Updated:
Thursday morning members of Greenville Police and other law enforcement agencies laced up to run for a good cause.

Police partnered with Special Olympians to make the four mile run between the Sheetz Gas Station on Portertown Road and the Sheetz on 10th street.

Our Brian Bailey hosted the event’s opening ceremony.

“We are community caretakers and often times people with special-needs are not taken care of very well. We want Greenville to be a place where that's not the case. We want Greenville to be the example of how we take care of our entire community” said Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden

Proceeds from the run go to support Pitt County Special Olympics.
