Theme Parks go Mobile – App World hits Disney World

Posted: Updated:
Mobile applications are invading theme parks across the country.

Many amusement and theme parks across America are slowly moving away from the traditional folding paper maps and encouraging park attendees to go digital. Parks like Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens and SeaWorld are encouraging park guest to download mobile applications for any park information they need.

The digital apps users download from iTunes or Google Play are all centered around getting guest up to date information they can use in the parks. SeaWorld Entertainment tells 9 On Your Side their new app has up-to-the-minute ride wait times and show times, ride-height filters, car finder function and insider park tips help guest make the most out of a visit.

The ‘My Disney Experience’ application from the Walt Disney Company helps users plan their day in the park. It has ride wait times, allows you to book dining reservations, and even works with the park’s new FastPass+ system to help guest skip long lines.

We recently spoke with several individuals who have recently taken Florida vacations. They advise that keeping your phone powered throughout the day may be difficult. However, most smart phones are compatible with portable power chargers to help give phones a midday boost. Charging stations are also starting to pop up in various parks as well.
