Mugshots: "Operation Pill Crusher" phase III

NEWPORT, N.C. - “Operation Pill Crusher” is still going on and now another 8 people are behind bars in Carteret County during week three of the operation.

Sheriff Asa Buck and District Attorney Scott Thomas held a news conference two weeks ago to report on the first round of the undercover drug operation called “Operation Pill Crusher.”

Since then, they've rounded up another 7 people in the second round of the operation as well as the 8 announced Friday.

The operation is an effort to target criminal suspects who have been engaged in the illegal sales and diversion of prescription medication and other illegal drugs in Carteret County.

Those charged in phase III of “Operation Pill Crusher” include:
 
Dawnna Decker, 49

Bond: $25,000 secured
• 2 counts – Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, & deliver

Schedule II controlled substances
• 2 counts – Sell and deliver schedule II controlled substances
• 1 count – Conspiracy to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substances

Edward Earl Ellison, 57

Bond: $300,000 secured
• 11 counts – Trafficking opium or heroin
• 4 counts – Maintaining vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances
• 1 count – Conspire to Traffic Opium or Heroin

Larry William Ellison, 52

Bond: $175,000 secured
• 4 counts – Trafficking opium or heroin
• 2 counts – Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, & deliver Schedule II

• 1 count – Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana
• 1 count – Sell of Deliver Marijuana
• 1 count – Conspiracy to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substances

The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office worked in coordination with D.A. Scott Thomas’ office reviewing criminal histories and prior criminal activity on the targeted suspects. Police say many of the targeted offenders have extensive criminal records as well as prior drug conviction and previous probationary sentences.

Sheriff Asa Buck said previously the arrests are just the beginning and over the next several weeks a significant number of additional arrests will be made.
