Trespassing report leads to arrest of 2 convicted felons, other man

KINSTON, N.C. - A report of trespassing led to the arrests of two convicted felons, one of them a probation absconder, and another man.

It happened Tuesday just before 3 a.m. in Kinston.

Officers responding to a report of trespassers near the Carriage House Apartments found three men hiding in a canal ditch located nearby. A K9 also found two handguns in the area where the men were found.

A check on the men’s identities revealed 20-year-old Jamal Pridgen was a convicted felon as was 21-year-old Carrionte Turnage. Turnage was also wanted by Probation and Parole as a probation absconder.  
Pridgen was also arrested and charged with several Breaking and/or Entering of Motor Vehicle charges which occurred in Kinston on May 23. During those break-ins, cash and a handgun were stolen. His bond was set at $105,000 secured.
Turnage was arrested and charged with being a Probation Absconder, Felony Possession of a Firearm, Trespassing, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm. His bond was set at $75,000 secured, but no bond for the absconder charge.

A third man, 19-year-old Dashawn Tyree Maye, was charged with Trespassing and given a $200 bond.
