Augusta, GA - It's summertime for most students in the CSRA, and the break from school means many kids are going to be spending time in outdoor public pools.

Laws for these pools in both Georgia and South Carolina require that children have adult supervision at all times, at least two lifeguards should be on duty at all times, and chlorine levels are checked regularly throughout the day.

"If they're not a strong swimmer, I would definitely suggest a life jacket and not a floatie," says Alex Baker, a lifeguard at Fleming Pool.

Richmond County pools are open to the public. The charge to get in is $2 for adults and $1 for kids.

The pool at the Aiken County Recreation Center in Graniteville opens June 9th.
