Augusta, GA -
It was a special day for kids at the Children's Hospital of Georgia.
Gracey Chafin, 8, has been on a mission to raise money to buy coloring books, crayons, and red wagons...all to donate to kids who are sick and spend most of their time at the hospital.
Gracey's family and friends helped out, even her classmates helped make her goal a reality.
"They wanted to help out and they asked everyone and asked them and no one would let them, because there was already like 15 people helping out," Gracey said.
"Brings back several Bible verses...it's better to give than to receive. Don't let your age affect what you do, so it's been pretty cool to watch her pull it all together," Gracey's mom, Stacey Chafin, said.
Gracey is also celebrating her 8th birthday Thursday. Her family says it was the perfect day to give back to people her own age.
They donated 15 wagons and about 1,800 items including dolls, action figures, and coloring books.
Happy birthday, Gracey, from WJBF News Channel 6. Way to go!!!
