Police say Kinston man tried to strangle his mother

KINSTON, N.C. - A Kinston man was arrested for attempting to strangle his mother early Wednesday morning.

According to police, Truldell Hamilton, 25, tried to strangle his mother following an altercation shortly after midnight Wednesday morning. Kinston Police responded to a call on the 800 block of N. McLewean Street.

Police said when they placed Hamilton into the back of a patrol car, he kicked the out the window.

Hamilton was placed in the Lenoir County Jail.

He is being charged with felony assault by strangulation and injury to personal property. His bail has been set at $15,500.
