FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Police arrested a man Monday in connection with the 2013 murder of a Fort Bragg Green Beret.

Donovan Lamar Moon, 26, was arrested and charged Monday with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felonious conspiracy to commit burglary, felonious conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of first-degree kidnapping.

Police said Moon is one of at least two men who were involved in the Oct. 7, 2013, murder of 35-year-old Sean Wells.

Police said the men entered Wells' home on Beaver Run Drive and forced Wells' wife, Rocio Wells, and child into another room before the men shot and killed Sean Wells.

Rocio Wells ran from the home and called 911 after she heard her husband being shot.

Police said a 2012 Toyota Camry was stolen from the home and was later recovered in the area of Rembrandt Drive near Rim Road.

Police said they have not been able to figure out why Wells was killed, although the shooters seemed to have some familiarity with the Wells' home.

Recent warrants show that investigators believe Wells was involved in drugs and that may have been a contributing factor in the murder.

"Initial investigation in this case and victimology reveal that the victim, Sean Wells was a drug user and frequented various dealers in the Fayetteville area. Witnesses interviewed in the early stages of this case stated that the victim may have had acquaintances in the vicinity of Delmar St. in Fayetteville."

A police database listed an address for Moon on Delmar Street.

Wells was in the Army for 15 years, the most recent seven as a Green Beret at Fort Bragg.
