Commonwealth Transportation Board approves local VDOT projects

RICHMOND (WSLS) - The Commonwealth Transportation Board has approved and allocated its Six-Year Improvement Program.

This includes several local projects such as safety improvements on Interstate 81 at Exit 150 in Roanoke, road improvements to Route 220 in Botetourt County and adding a passenger rail train from Roanoke to Lynchburg.

VDOT TO SPEND $78 MILLION ROUTE 220 IN BOTETOURT COUNTY

In all, $13.1 billion will be spent on highway, road, bridge, transit and rail projects across Virginia.
